Vicarage Court

Originally approached by the Diocese of Guildford to consider more efficient use of land assets, The Property Partnership proposed a combined scheme with a new purpose-built Vicarage combined with an apartment scheme to enable the funding of the new Vicarage building.

This proposal met with resistance from the local authority planning department and eventually a larger apartment scheme was consented to without Vicarage but increased the monetary gain to the Diocese at a critical time due to reduced contributions from the effects of Covid on attendance numbers.

It was important to the Diocese that the design and consideration of the local community were carefully considered and this has been reflected in the design of the new scheme. The project from concept to commencement of construction has been undertaken during lockdown restrictions, a testament to teamwork, adaptability and working in true partnership with a collaborative landowner.
